President Trump STUNS ABC interviewer with one line…

In President Trump’s first prime time interview since taking office, ABC’s David Muir tried trip Trump up with “gotcha” questions intended to embarrass him. However, when Trump pivoted to what he wanted to talk about, he left Muir scrambling.

From Newsbusters:

“…Things got awkward for interviewer David Muir when he tried to stick Trump with questions about the Women’s March on Saturday, “Let me just ask you while we’re standing outside, could you hear the voices from the Women’s March here in Washington.”

“No, I couldn’t hear them. The crowds were large, but you will have a large crowd on Friday, too, which is mostly pro-life people,” Trump informed Muir before hammering him for the media’s long history of blatantly ignoring the annual March for Life in Washington, DC:

You’re going to have a lot of people coming on Friday. And I will say this, and I didn’t realize this. But I was told. You will have a very large crowd of people. I don’t know as large or larger. Some people said it will be larger. Pro-life people and they say the press doesn’t cover them.

Muir was caught completely off guard and was left stuttering by the turn of events. “I don’t want to compare crowd sizes again. I – I—I,” he said, trying to scramble away from the issue of liberal media bias against conservatives.”

Trump didn’t stop there, he also went after some of President Obama’s policies, left virtually unchecked by the media for 8 years.

When President Obama decided to pull troops out of Iraq at the end of 2011, he left a power void in the country that has led to chaos in the region. With the power vacuum of post-war Iraq and the civil war that began in Syria, the President’s mistake directly led to the rise of ISIS.

Since then, ISIS has not only expanded to take territory in Iraq and Syria, but gained influence in other countries around the world. Of course, Obama seemed powerless to stop the spread of ISIS, even once famously quipping that ISIS was the “JV team” before realizing they were quickly becoming the most dangerous terrorist organization in the world.

The rise of ISIS could have been avoided had we not abandoned Iraq too early, and it also could have been avoided other ways according to President Trump. Terrorist organizations need funds to operate, and President Trump pointed out there was a way for the Obama administration to deny ISIS those vital funds from the start.

From CNN:

Donald Trump said Wednesday there would be no ISIS had the US kept Iraq’s oil, following the US invasion into the country.

“We should have kept the oil when we got out. And you know, it’s very interesting. Had we taken the oil, you wouldn’t have ISIS, because they fuel themselves with the oil. That’s where they got the money,” the President told ABC’s David Muir.

“We should have taken the oil. You wouldn’t have ISIS if we took the oil.”

Predictably, critics instantly attacked him for pointing out the obvious. Those are the same critics who claim the only reason we fought in Iraq in the first place was for oil. It seems lost on them that if the war was for oil, we wouldn’t even be able to have this discussion.

If this first interview is any indication, President Trump is going to take the same no nonsense approach to the media as he will with terrorism. ISIS and the biased media might want to beware.
