Senate DEFIES Trump before he’s even president, crafts bill to LIMIT his power to…

One of the biggest campaign promises Donald Trump ran on during his presidential campaign was immigration reform, including deporting millions of illegals back to their home countries.

This, of course, never sat well with liberals who are more than likely concerned with losing voters than they are seeing illegals get sent back home — which is why they began to attack The Donald and his supporters as being racist, attempting to shut him down before getting elected.

Obviously that strategy failed, so it appears they’re now taking a different approach to oppose Trump, as senators are now crafting a bill to limit deportations under the new administration.

According to The Hill, Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), both members of the panel, are crafting a bill to shield children living in the country illegally from being deported if they grew up in the United States and have stayed out of trouble.

The bill is likely to have the support of another Republican on the committee, Sen. Jeff Flake (Ariz.). He was a member of the so-called Gang of Eight that put together the comprehensive immigration reform bill that passed the Senate in 2013.

Durbin and Graham say they are especially vulnerable because they applied to the government for protection under Obama’s executive order, known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

They are discussing legislation that would give these immigrants temporary protection from deportation or loss of academic and job opportunities until Congress passes more comprehensive legislation addressing the status of undocumented residents.

“Sen. Graham and I discussed it again this morning and we hope to even have this bill ready before we leave next week, a bipartisan effort to say to the new president, ‘give these young people a fighting chance,’ ” Durbin said on the Senate floor.

“You can’t blame these kids for coming here, you can’t blame these kids for coming out of the shadows. They’re out of the shadows and now we know who they are. If we cancel the executive order, what happens to them? We deport them all?” Graham said.

To be sure, the issue of these children is a delicate one in particular — especially now that the Obama administration, through executive order, has urged them to come out of the shadows. (Makes you wonder where all this energy to block presidents has been the past eight years… Hmm.)

Regardless, Trump has said on numerous occasions, without borders, there’s no country, and if we don’t secure ours as soon as possible, we’re leaving ourselves vulnerable to infiltration by criminals and terrorists, as well as inviting individuals to come get on welfare and soak up precious resources.

We are supposedly a nation of laws, but the way liberals — including, apparently, establishment members of the GOP — are acting over Trump’s immigration policies, you’d swear the laws we already have on the books have been shredded and taken to the nearest landfill.

Let’s hope these folks come to their senses and drop this crusade and allow the new administration to return us to a country where the law is upheld.
