With Hollywood and the entertainment industry at large basically serving as a huge toilet bowl with liberalism swirling about, soiling everything in its path, it’s always refreshing to see someone famous take a stand and put these folks in their place.
And that’s precisely what Gene Simmons from KISS just did during a television interview when he laid the smack down on celebrities who spew their political beliefs all over the place.
Breitbart reports, KISS frontman Gene Simmons scolded politically outspoken celebrities in a recent television interview and suggested that they keep their political opinions to themselves.
“I think celebrities should basically shut their pie holes and do what they do best — act, sing, tap dance, juggle balls, and all that kind of stuff,” Simmons said in an interview with Fox Business this week.
The rock star said those “uninformed” Americans protesting the election results should understand that the “electoral college has spoken.”
“The founding fathers in their wisdom actually did many things right, including creating the electoral college,” Simmons said. “The electoral college has spoken. It was created to circumvent all sorts of issues including the popular vote.” Simmons said if liberal activists want to replace the electoral college, that’s “fine,” but they should “go out there and force [their] legislatures to pass laws” instead of wasting time on protests.“President-elect Trump is the president,” he added. “You can like it, you cannot like it. He’s the new president, that’s the end of the story.”
This may be the most brilliant piece of advice to come out of a celebrity’s mouth in a very, VERY long time.
Simmons couldn’t be more spot on. Back in the day you rarely ever heard entertainers talk about their political beliefs, mostly due to the fact they didn’t want to alienate their fan base nor cause trouble for the studios that hired them. We normal folk call that “wisdom.”
Unfortunately, thanks to the newest generation of nutty liberals, celebrities feel obligated to espouse on matters they’re clueless about because activism has become the only means of staying relevant in the age of social media.
If they want to work in the industry, they have to pretend they actually care about liberal causes as a means of winning fans and followers, all to gain a platform for promoting music, movies, ect.
The left wins here, even if the individual doesn’t really care about the cause, because the agenda still gets pushed and uninformed young people gobble up whatever their favorite actors and athletes say.
Let’s hope more Hollywood types listen to Gene Simmons and actually take his advice.
