Following Donald Trump’s victory, Canada’s immigration website crashed. Unfortunately for all the liberals looking to follow through on their plans to move to Canada if Donald Trump was elected, Canada actually has relatively strict immigration laws (which nobody has yet to brand as “racist”). Those who want to move to Canada actually need to be either skilled, have a job waiting for them there, or be an entrepreneur with a high net worth.
Needless to say, few of the protestors you saw in the streets following Trump’s victory meet that criteria.
Now thanks to President Trump, Canada is going to be welcoming in people by the thousands - just not from America. As Fox News reported: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Saturday that Canada will welcome refugees rejected by President Donald Trump.
Trudeau also plans to discuss the success of Canada’s refugee policy with Trump. Trudeau reacted to Trump’s visa ban for people from certain Muslim-majority countries by tweeting, “To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength. #WelcomeToCanada.”
Trump signed an executive order on Friday that he billed as a necessary step to stop “radical Islamic terrorists” from coming to the U.S. A 90-day ban on travel to the U.S. by citizens of Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen and a 120-day suspension of the U.S. refugee program was also issued.To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada

Trudeau posted a picture on Twitter where he is greeting a Syrian child back in 2015 at the Toronto airport.
Trudeau oversaw the arrival of over 39,000 Syrian refugees soon after he was elected.
According to the Center for Immigration Studies, resettling a Middle Eastern refugee in the Untied States costs an estimated $64,370 in the first five years, or $257,481 per household. Meanwhile, if those fleeing Syria were to take refuge in neighboring countries, it would cost approximately $1,057 annually to care for them. Anyone truly interested in helping refugees would support resettling them in other Middle Eastern nations, as we get over 10 times as much bang for our buck.
If Canada’s taxpayers want to foot the bill though, good for them. Hopefully they’ll offer refugee status to the dozens of celebrities who threatened to leave in the event of a Trump victory next. Then again, even the most tolerant among us would be hesitant to welcome in Lena Dunham.
