The March for Life is today, and it’s been largely ignored by the media. According to the Media Research Center’s Katie Yoder, the Women’s March got 129 times more media attention on the three major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) than the 2016 March For Life.
You’d think with all the media attention on the Women’s March those in the media would actually bother to research who was behind, and speaking at the march. You wouldn’t hear on CNN that an organizer central to the march, Linda Sarsour, is pro-Sharia law. You’d think that’s a relevant detail when we’re talking about a women’s march. But that’s nothing really.
Among the march’s speakers was convicted felon Donna Hylton, who, with a group of others, kidnapped and tortured a gay man to death.
According to the Daily Caller: Hylton’s name is listed on the Women’s March website alongside prominent liberals like Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, actress Gloria Steinem, filmmaker Michael Moore and CNN commentator Van Jones.
Hylton, along with three men and three other women, kidnapped 62-year-old real-estate broker Thomas Vigliarole and held him for ransom, before eventually killing him. As noted in a 1995 Psychology Today article, when asked about forcibly sodomizing the victim with a three foot steel pole, Hylton replied: “He was a homo anyway.”
According to that same article, Hylton delivered a ransom note to a friend of Vigliarole’s asking for more than $400,000, even though the victim was already dead by that point. A 1985 article in The New York Times, which misspelled Donna’s last name as “Hilton,” put the ransom demand at $435,000. For her participation in the murder, according to Psychology Today, Hylton was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Organizers of the march, who banned pro-life women from participating, did not return The Daily Caller’s request for comment regarding Hylton’s participation as a featured speaker.
Hylton’s participation in the Women’s March was first pointed out by conservative outlet The American Spectator.
Hylton didn’t hide that she was an ex-con, introducing herself at the march by stating the length of her prison sentence and her prisoner number. She left out that part about just exactly how she ended up in jail.
Pro-life women weren’t allowed at the march, but those who are pro-death in the the first degree are welcome. You know - torture and murder are crimes usually carried out by men, so who knows, maybe they were proud of her for breaking the glass ceiling in the most disturbing way possible.
