Today in the latest episode of “everything is racist,” the Social Justice Police have claimed the Red Cross as their latest victim.
It all began with a safety poster they published, which is pictured below. Can you see what’s “racist” about it?
In case you couldn’t figure it out, apparently the fact that three of the five children not obeying the rules in the image are of darker skin color is now racism.
One Twitter user quickly reported the photo to the Red Cross, branding it “super racist.”
Hey, @RedCross, send a new pool poster to @SalidaRec bc the current one they have w your name on it is super racist pic.twitter.com/TY8MmFB3Qk

…. and the Red Cross caved immediately.
@JSawyer330 Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re removing this from our site immediately & are creating new materials.

Of course, sorry is never enough for the professionally offended.
@RedCross GREAT NEWS. Curious, did you make these in-house or was it contracted out? How many went out around the country?

@JSawyer330 Did you receive a response to this question? So many layers to this issue.
— Sharicca Boldon (@ShariccaB) June 26, 2016
Oh yes — there are soooooo many “layers” to this issue. Where would we be without activists to stand up against racism in Red Cross swimming pool posters?
Luckily, most of the Twitterverse was sane on this issue.
@ElVatoTeporocho @sie_kensou77 @RedCross @JSawyer330 Honestly, I'm baffled. Are people seeing racism where none at all exists?

@JSawyer330 @RedCross @SalidaRec How is this racist? I see a white guy with beer, not cool. You people see monsters in your own shadows.

I (Matt Palumbo) have always been of the position that to see race in literally anything, you have to be a bit of a racist yourself.
