Chris Christie weighs in on OJ parole, and it’s UGLY

After his forgettable campaign for president and the complete disaster that was “Bridgegate,” Chris Christie, the provocative and confrontational governor of New Jersey, has been looking for his way back into the national limelight and boy, has he surpassed all expectations.

After lounging on a New Jersey beach declared closed to the public, and causing a public uproar, Christie is clearly ready to mix it up and make his presence known. A brilliant legal mind indeed, Christie expressed no qualms weighing in on OJ Simpson’s recent parole in an appearance with a local New York sports radio station.

Christie and co-host Craig Carton started the show talking about Simpson’s hearing in the Nevada robbery case Thursday, during which Simpson said: ‘I’ve basically spent a conflict-free life.’

Christie scoffed at the claim, pointing to a domestic violence case against the ex-football star involving his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and the civil lawsuit that found Simpson responsible for her death and the death of Ron Goldman.

Christie added that Simpson had ‘slaughtered them.’

The governor surmised Simpson got a tougher sentence for the robbery because of the slayings.

Simpson was granted parole Thursday after more than eight years in prison for a Las Vegas hotel-room heist, successfully making his case for freedom in a nationally televised hearing that reflected America’s enduring fascination with the former football star.

Given all that has transpired in the last year, Christie knows his career as a politician is coming to an end. Or does he? Maybe he should give talk radio a go: he certainly has the personality, charisma and hard-hitting style to make a considerable impact on the national airwaves.

Because he’s not making many friends at the moment.
