No wonder the true cost of Obamacare is exploding. The printing costs for the law itself are blowing up just to keep up with all the regulations.
While the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act (HCERA) - which together make up the monster known as Obamacare – are a total of 961 pages, the regulations needed to enforce these acts take up 10,535 pages in the Federal Register.
According to a recent calculation, there are “only” 381,517 words in the Obamacare law itself but over eleven MILLION words in the 109 regulations needed to enforce the darn thing.
To put this another way, a merry band of unelected officials has written 30 words of regulations for every word of the law.But I hesitate to actually call it a “law.” In this country, according to that musty old-fashioned document called our Constitution, laws must apply to all citizens. But Obamacare clearly does not. Waivers and exemptions have been granted to the President’s cronies and supporters, while the rest of us poor serfs are forced to toe the line. If Obamacare is truly a law, it should apply to all or it should apply to none. If it doesn’t apply to all, it’s an edict, not a law.
There are many liberal progressives who take umbrage with the Pledge of Allegiance and prefer it not be taught in our schools. Perhaps they would prefer this revision:
“I pledge allegiance to the regulations of President Barack Obamacare and to the Republic and healthcare system for which it shall destroy, one bloated edict, under the direction of an imperial ruler, with no liberty but “social justice” for all.”
