And so it happens again, as if it’s now something we expect every week, an Islamic jihadist attack. We here at allenbwest.com send our condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the people of Turkey, the survivors and the families of the victims.
However, let’s be very honest, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been dancing with the devil by the pale moonlight for quite some time. Erdogan is without a doubt a declared Islamist and a supporter of the granddaddy of the Islamic jihadist movement, the Muslim Brotherhood. Erdogan has played a dangerous game of placating and supporting these Sunni jihadist groups, to include ISIS, expecting to be immune from retribution. Erdogan has firmly set his sights on reinvigorating an Islamist Turkey, one contradictory to the secular Muslim nation envisioned by Kemal Ataturk.
Therefore, it should be no surprise that on the second anniversary of the declaration of their caliphate, the Islamic State attacked the structure named after the man who eschewed the militant Islamic vision — and ended the last Muslim caliphate.
And the strike against Europe’s third largest airport, particularly the international terminal, can be seen as nothing less than a deliberate assault against western civilizational life. But the real lesson to be learned by Erdogan, whose little Frankenstein monster has turned rogue — and all of us — is exactly what does a caliphate mean?
It is imperative we come to realize the goal of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is a borderless empire, and he as its sole leader, the caliph. That means no secular leadership and rejection of the concept of nation-states. This is why ISIS wants to eliminate Bashar Assad, and if they can, Erdogan as well.
There is only one leader in the caliphate and there is only one law: The Koran. None of this democracy stuff, constitutions, and self-governance…you know, liberty, freedom, and that jazz. It’s all about conversion, subjugation, or as we continue to see, death.
And for those who don’t understand the Muslim Brotherhood, they’re just well-dressed jihadists – a la Mohammed Morsi in Egypt, the birthplace of the Brotherhood. (If you want to learn more about this group read Erick Stakelbeck’s book on The Brotherhood).
But with all this happening, there’s a bright light of hope for the people of Turkey. We’re going to dispatch our Attorney General Loretta Lynch who will bring her message of compassion, unity, and love as the best response to Islamic terrorism.
She’ll conduct training sessions on how to properly give a jihadist a hug and make them forget the burning desire to behead and blow people up just because they don’t accept their post 622 AD militant Islamic vision. Lynch will be joined by Hillary Clinton’s personal aide, Huma Abedin, who as extensive experience with the Muslim Brotherhood and speaks jihadi. Abedin will bring her simple message from Hillary Clinton of “empathizing” with our enemy — oops, that wasn’t very loving, was it?
And the Turkish General Assembly needs to know that Nancy Pelosi is sending over Rep. John Lewis to train them on properly conducting a sit-in. From what I’ve heard, he’s having the song, “We Shall Overcome,” translated into Turkish. After all, if only there were stricter gun and suicide vest control, this attack would not have happened.
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is contributing millions of dollars for an anti-gun campaign in Turkey because clearly, that, along with compassion, unity, and love, is the best response to Islamic terrorism.
However, not to be outdone, Secretary of State John Kerry is traveling to Istanbul with James Taylor who will give an acoustic rendition of “You’ve got a Friend.” I even heard that Deputy National Security Advisor, Ben Rhodes, is busy using his creative writing expertise in order to craft messaging for Erdogan and Susan Rice will be giving media appearances this Sunday on all the Turkish TV stations blaming the whole episode on a video.
Ok, maybe I was kidding…a little. I don’t mean to make light of what happened, but felt it was necessary for y’all to see what it looks like when the progressive socialist left does its thing. The sad thing is, it’s all based on fact.
This is not the time for obfuscation, denial or lies. Fifty people went to the Ataturk Airport looking forward to a nice uneventful day of travel — they are now dead.
The only way this stops is if we look this enemy in the eye, understand their goals and objectives, and start killing them, wherever they seek sanctuary.
It is indeed time we, as Maximus stated at the beginning of the movie Gladiator, “unleash hell.” How many more innocent people have to die before we in the western world, so called lovers of freedom, stand up and crush these barbaric savages?
The clock is ticking and this is all about what kind of world we will leave to our children and grandchildren.
After all, everyone knows Republicans, their hatred of gays and Donald Trump’s racial rhetoric are to blame for what happened in Istanbul, Orlando, San Bernardino, Paris, Brussels, Ft. Hood, Chattanooga, and a plethora of other locations.
And that’s my parting shot of sarcasm.
