I know, I know, it’s the Russians! They’re hacking our election and influencing our current presidential administration. Folks, that’s been the standard line from the progressive socialist left for quite sometime.
It’s been a game of the ol’ Kansas City Shuffle —ya know, you look left, they go right. It’s amazing how the liberal progressive media just doesn’t seem to want to confront the Democrat Party about flaws, failures, shortcomings, and scandals. And then folks wonder why they’re losing credibility?
Monday evening here on the MRC cruise aboard the Celebrity Silhouette, some fella saw the lanyard and MRC badge around my neck. He asked me what the Media Research Center was and I explained it was a conservative media group. His response was “so you’re the group that believes everyone is lying to you?” I just looked over my shoulder and said, “no, we’re the folks who can think for ourselves.”
I wonder what that cheeky little fella would say about this continuing story, about which you’ve heard little in the mainstream liberal media. We shared this story originally a few weeks ago, but it just got even more disturbing.
As reported by the Daily Caller, “Rogue congressional staffers took $100,000 from an Iraqi politician while they had administrator-level access to the House of Representatives’ computer network, according to court documents examined by The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group.
The money was a loan from a Dr. Ali al-Attar, an Iraqi political figure, and was funneled through a company with “impossible”-to-decipher financial transactions that the congressional information technology (IT) staffers controlled.
Imran Awan, ringleader of the group that includes his brothers Abid and Jamal, has provided IT services since 2005 for Florida Democrat Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the former Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairwoman.
The brothers are from Pakistan. The trio also worked for dozens of other House Democrats, including members of the intelligence, foreign affairs and homeland security committees. Those positions likely gave them access to congressional emails and other sensitive documents.
The brothers, whose access to House IT networks has been terminated, are under criminal investigation by the U.S. Capitol Police. Wasserman Schultz resigned from her DNC post following a disastrous email hack during the 2016 campaign. Her House spokesman did not respond to TheDCNF’s question Monday about Imran’s employment status.
As of Feb. 6, she had declined to fire Imran. Investigators found that congressional information was being copied to an off-site server and they suspect the brothers of improperly accessing information and stealing congressional property. Chiefs of staff for the employing Democrats were notified Feb. 2.
Soon after Imran began working for members of Congress, Imran’s and Abid’s wives — Hina Alvi and Natalia Sova — also began receiving congressional paychecks, TheDCNF found. Imran’s employers included two members of the intelligence committee, Indiana Democrat Rep. Andre Carson and California Democrat Rep. Jackie Speier. By 2009, the family was simultaneously managing a full-time car dealership in Virginia, with Abid running day-to-day operations after contributing $250,000 in startup cash. It was called Cars International A, LLC, referred to as “CIA” in court documents.
Imran boasted unusual clout among House Democrats, and was even pictured conversing with former President Bill Clinton. After Rao Abbas, who was owed money by the dealership, threatened to sue amidst allegations of deception and theft, Abbas appeared on the congressional payroll and received $250,000 in taxpayer payments.”
Now, I’m onboard a cruise ship, but we still get the news, and I haven’t seen any of this covered on CNN, NBC or MSNBC. I saw a lot of coverage about the “not my president” protest or the protests in London to refuse our president the invitation to an official state visit. This is what the American people see, and it angers them — the blatant duplicitous hypocrisy. Comparing the November election to 9-11 or Pearl Harbor is insidious and far over the top, but that’s NEWS on the liberal progressive left.
Ok, let’s just imagine this, if we had three Russian brothers who were IT specialists working for Republican Members of Congress…yep, you get my drift. The story would be all over the place and there would be demands for these Members of Congress to step down, certainly be investigated.
But have you heard anything about this story, this revelation? As Ricky Bobby would say, “this just happened” but not in the world of the left. You see, the leftist media dismisses that which does not serve their ideological agenda and talking points. There is no way they’re going to bring this to light, just like there’s no such thing as an IRS scandal, and nothing happened in Benghazi. Or what is Extortion 17? Who is Army 1LT Clint Lorance? This isn’t so much about “fake news,” it’s about “selected news” and that is always about what the left deems important.
On this cruise, we have the head of ACT for America, Brigitte Gabriel, who is currently fighting against a smear campaign by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). As well, when did you hear the liberal progressive media discuss the background of the organizer of the Million Women’s March the day after the president’s inauguration day, Linda Sarsour. It was Ms. Sarsour who made some very disturbing comments about what she wished would happen to Brigitte Gabriel, which we shared here. However, were there any reports by the leftist media about Ms. Sarsour and her background? Nah, crickets.

We must be better informed, and we need to have an organization that evidences the obfuscation, denial, dismissal, and outright lies of the liberal progressive media — heck, to listen to MSNBC, you’d think Obamacare and socialized medicine are the greatest things since Goober grape. However, talk to the Canadians who are here on the MRC cruise and they’ll give you a different story.
The leftist media keeps droning on about the “alt-right” but my question is, when are they going to talk about themselves, and the story of the Awan brothers?
Ah, I guess collusion with Islamists is just fine with the left.
