North Korea claims U.S. has declared WAR…via Twitter

Ri Yong Ho, North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un’s Foreign Minister who makes a habit of ridiculing the United States in general and President Trump in specific, almost as much as Maxine Waters does, claims he was speaking on Kim Jong-un’s behalf when he told reporters on Monday that the U.S.A. declared war on North Korea and that the NoKo’s reserved the right to shoot down our strategic bombers even if they are not in the North Korean air space.

The reason cited? The act that sparked this ‘war declaration’? A tweet. I guess we’ve really now entered the digital age, when one nation can declare war on another by sending a tweet. A ‘war declaration’ that can be no longer than 140 characters?

The tweet in question?

This Trump tweet has apparently been construed into an official declaration as the North Korean diplomat wasted no time in issuing a harsh response:

“Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make countermeasures, including the right to shoot down United States strategic bombers even when they are not inside the airspace border of our country.” Ri Yong Ho, DPRK Foreign Minister”

MSN has picked up on the ridiculous turn of events:

“North Korea’s foreign minister said on Monday President Donald Trump had declared war on North Korea and that Pyongyang reserved the right to take countermeasures, including shooting down U.S. bombers even if they are not in its air space.

Ri Yong Ho said a Twitter message by Trump on Saturday in which the president warned that the minister and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un “won’t be around much longer” if they acted on their threats amounted to a declaration of war.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders on Monday denied the United States had declared war, calling the suggestion “absurd.”

Speaking earlier in New York, where he had been attending the annual U.N. General Assembly, Ri told reporters: “The whole world should clearly remember it was the U.S. who first declared war on our country.”

“Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make countermeasures, including the right to shoot down United States strategic bombers even when they are not inside the airspace border of our country.

“The question of who won’t be around much longer will be answered then,” Ri added.”

Gee, think these guys are just a little bit hyper-sensitive?

We all hope and pray that all the tough talk from both sides never amounts to anything more than just that - talk. But Yong Ho and Jong-un and the rest of his minions might do well to be reminded of that age-old proverb, “Don’t mess with the bull because if you do, you just might get the horns.”
