Those surviving Hurricane Harvey in Texas are understandably not-thrilled with the media milking their suffering for ratings.
CNN learned that upon attempting to interview one of the victims in a shelter, who had just been rescued after being stranded for 36 hours without help. The victim, a mother accompanied by her daughter, began by telling CNN how long she had to wait to be rescued, and became increasingly visibly distressed throughout the interview. The clueless CNN correspondent continued to question the survivor, even as she and her daughter were crying over what they had just been through. It was at that point the woman lost control, and went off on CNN faster than they could censor her.
“We walked through four feet of water to go get them food [sic] on the first day. Yeah, that’s a lot of s**t. But y’all sit here—y’all trying to interview people during their worst times, like that’s not the smartest thing to do; like people are really breaking down and y’all sitting here with cameras and microphones trying to ask us what the f**k is wrong with us. And you’re really trying to understand with the microphone still in my face. With me shivering cold, with my kids wet, and you’re still putting a microphone in my face!”
After that, CNN decided it would be a good time to cut the interview. Watch below (language warning):
The woman hasn’t yet been identified, but when she does, something tells me the public will be more than happy to donate towards her recovery.
