Over the last seven months since Donald Trump has been acting president, CNN has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are a left-wing biased news organization and has abandoned journalistic integrity and ethics in pursuit of destroying the current administration.
The latest evidence of this — as if anyone needed more — is a report they put out on Wednesday that labeled all Trump supporters as “white supremacists by default.”Yes, CNN just railroaded 63 million people into the neo-Nazi camp based on who they cast a vote for on election day.
What’s worse is they have not apologized or retracted the statement. The Daily Caller reports:
The report stakes its weighty claims about the moral character of Trump supporters on the word of “activists, historians and victims of extremism,” who argue that “ordinary people” have empowered white supremacists.“It’s easy to focus on the angry white men in paramilitary gear who looked like they were mobilizing for a race war in the Virginia college town,” the report reads. “But it’s the ordinary people — the voters who elected a reality TV star with a record of making racially insensitive comments, the people who move out of the neighborhood when people of color move in, the family members who ignore a relative’s anti-Semitism — who give these type of men room to operate.”
The Daily Caller News Foundation received no response after contacting multiple CNN public relations employees, politics editors and the writer who authored the report, to inquire as to whether the network stands by the story.
Much of the report rests on the extensive conclusions drawn by Fordham University professor and political activist Mark Naison, who wasted no time in issuing a stinging indictment of the character of all Trump supporters.“You have to have millions of people who are willing to be bystanders, who push aside evidence of racism, Islamophobia or sexism. You can’t have one without the other,” Naison says. “We are a country with a few million passionate white supremacists — and tens of millions of white supremacists by default,” Naison told CNN.
The report breaks Trump supporters down into four groups: the “down low segregationists,” the “yes, but” group, “those who choose chaos,” and “those who look the other way.”
The “down low segregationists” are supposedly people who decry segregation, but then move when “diversity” comes to their neighborhood. The “yes, but” folk admit there’s racism of some sort, but then add a “qualifier” to diminish that confession.
The “those who choose chaos” individuals are the ones who found Trump highly entertaining and voted for him more or less just to see what he would do. And the “those who look the other way” is pretty self explanatory. What’s really disturbing about this situation is how CNN is refusing to apologize for lumping all Trump supporters in with such an egregious group of people.
The overwhelming majority of those who voted Trump did so to keep Hillary out of office, and that was the only real reason for their support. It had nothing to do with race, but everything to do with voters being sick and tired of failed Democratic policies.
Imagine what would happen if right-leaning news sources started calling all Obama voters or Hillary supporters Antifa members? Yeah, it wouldn’t go over well.
An apology needs to be made, and pronto.
