The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed — what part of that confuses Liberals?
If anyone believes silence means inactivity when it comes to the liberal progressive assault on American’s Second Amendment rights, you are truly gullible.
I imagine the recent spate of college campus shootings and today’s Maryland shopping mall shooting has given the left a renewed energy. And following on the efforts of a New York newspaper to publish lawful gun owners’ residences, another media publication may be considering outing holders of concealed weapons permits (CWP).
According to Fox News,
A national newspaper chain with nearly 100 publications and 1.6 million readers is considering building “state-by-state databases” on concealed weapons permit holders, according to an internal e-mail. Civitas’ database project was detailed in a Jan.19 e-mail to newsrooms across the chain, which has papers in 11 states, including Ohio, Illinois and Pennsylvania.
In the leaked email, Jim Lawitz, Civitas’ director of content stated,
The newest project examines the explosion of ‘conceal and carry’ gun permits across the U.S. Through public records act requests, we will attempt to build state-by-state databases that list those who have the right to carry a concealed weapon.
Let me kindly assist Mr. Lawitz in his endeavor: Allen B. West, concealed weapons license holder, State of Florida.
Michael Hammond, legislative counsel for the Gun Owners of America, said he believes Civitas Media will ultimately publish the databases, despite Lawitz’s statement to FoxNews.com to the contrary.
“Why would a newspaper chain go to the trouble of compiling a list if they had no interest in publishing it?” he said. “Isn’t that what newspapers do? It’s clear that this newspaper chain doesn’t intend to do [gun owners] good.”
I have to agree with Mr. Hammond. Why would anyone in the news media seek to gather information for any other purpose than for its publishing? Clearly Civitas Media and the progressive Left are part of the overall progressive socialist effort to attack and demonize conservative groups.
Consider the comments of New York Governor Cuomo insisting that those who believe in their Second Amendment rights have no place in “his state, New York.” During his first run for the presidency, Barack Obama made reference to “bitter Americans who cling to their guns and religion.” And just recently New York Senator Chuck Schumer talked about increasing the efforts of the IRS and other government agencies to target conservative groups, specifically the constitutional conservative grassroots movement, the Tea Party, during a speech at the Center for American Progress, a far left liberal think tank supported by billionaire George Soros.
There can no longer be any doubt that America is living under the yoke of tyranny from a threatening government the likes of which we have not seen since the British — and it is blatantly in your face.
Throughout history, when a society and its people are disarmed, the results have always been horrible.
How timely are these words from Thomas Jefferson:
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
And from James Madison, “Disarm the people — that is the best and most effective way to enslave them.”
Jefferson and Madison, two American Presidents, wrote the documents that fundamentally established these United States of America, the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. Our current president, Barack Hussein Obama stated he wanted to “fundamentally transform” America. Given his actions to date, it is not a stretch to say he wants to destroy the works of Jefferson and Madison. If so, from his own mouth he hath convicted himself of high crimes and misdemeanors against our Constitutional Republic, America.
