Those Christians from Chick-fil-A are at it again (giving away free food)

This week’s snowstorm in Alabama gave a chance for the folks at Chick-fil-A to once again demonstrate their values.

While motorists were stranded on Highway 280, restaurant owner Mark Meadows and his employees trudged through the snow and ice to hand out free chicken sandwiches to anyone they could reach.

According to Fox News,

some of the drivers had been stuck in their cars for nearly seven hours without any food or water. So the staff of the Chick-fil-A decided to lend a helping hand. “We cooked several hundred sandwiches and stood out on both sides of 280 and handed out the sandwiches to anyone we could get to – as long as we had food to give out,” an employee said.

Remember, this is the same Chick-fil-A the mayors of Boston and Chicago said didn’t share their values because the company supports Christian values and traditional marriage.

I grew up with Chick-fil-A – after all, they started in my home town of Atlanta. I can attest there is no organization that better reflects American values – and they make a serious chicken sandwich!

Homo - homosexual / phobic - referring to “Fear” of something.
Is the opposite of Christian’s, we don’t “Fear You” we disagree with your “Lifestyle” and/or “Sexual Attraction”.

Judgmental is the opposite of “Correcting In Love, Respect, and Politeness”
Christian’s are referred as being Judgmental for “Disagreeing” or staying someone is “Wrong” whether with the usage of scripture or personal experiences to justify one’s position in not accepting an action, lifestyle, choices etc.

Also scripturally Christians are to “Judge the Ways” of this “World”.
Scripturally a Christian questions the “Truth and Morality” of everything in line with Gods word and Scientific Facts.

Mean Spirited is NOT what a Christian should be when presenting something whether disagreeing or supporting another.
Respect and Love is proper edict and isn’t “acceptance” but “tolerance”.
“Tolerance” is proper equality towards anything you may disagree with.

A Christian respect difference’s but does not “Follow” in line with Sinful and/or Worldly concepts or views etc.

Christian’s in a Free Country have as much of a right to practice what they believe, as much as anyone else.

Respect I give towards Chick-Fil-A for demonstrating True and Honest
Christian Behavior; that this world “NEEDS” more of from “Everyone”. …

    I live in MN and drove today on solid ice and a major blizzard. So did a couple of hundred thousand other people. I was a little slow going for awhile, but we all made it to work and home again. We had 8 inches of snow on top of the ice and tonight we probably get black ice.

    I’ve been stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, Fort Benning, GA, and other posts in the South. Also at Fort Lewis, WA, now Joint-Base Lewis-McCord. It rains more than it snows in much of Western Washington, however, in the City of Seattle you can go from Sea Level to 150 feet in the city limits, let alone the rest of the area. Plenty of hills and curves in Oregon, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Hampshire, Vermont, Pennsylvania, etc.
    
    I was a driving instructor in the Army, and I’ve had to train people to drive in the snow. Many folks from the “Deep South” have little experience driving in snow. The situation was exacerbated by the Mayor of Atlanta; he admits it. It is tough to be prepared for an unlikely situation. I hope people have learned from what happened. God Bless them all. And God Bless the people from that Chik-Fil-A and all the other folks who came out to help those in need!

Oh, the horror! How can those people at Chik-Fil-A possibly do such things? I mean how can they justify helping out their fellow human beings like that? The despicable values they espouse and the actions they take! Why, you might think they actually believe in those biblical values when they do such things! All I can say is the next time I am near a Chik-Fil-A restaurant I will show them what I think of such actions- by going in and having lunch and telling them I am there because I think they are an excellent example of faith in action. She told me that there were people who abused their situation , but were screwed if they wanted more . Plus. A lot of people got bills from FEMA afterwards.

Tornado in Washington IL a few months ago, I was part of damage assessment team for the area — in a totally devastated development… people helping neighbors, and some, even interrupting their search for belongings trying to help us help them… Teams of people - families and organizations - from outside Washington, buying the makings, and passing out sandwiches, chips, cookies, water and etc to those in the devastated areas… No crying for the feds or the state to provide, no looting or stealing - just neighbors helping neighbors and strangers… NO was disgusting… Washington was humbling….

Liberals, just don’t know how to run a business. That’s why they are so apposed to companies like Chick-fil-A. They would never have thought to do something like this, and will never understand that the motivating factor in this act by Chick-fil-A, was human kindness and caring, nothing else. The fact that it gets good press and turns out to be good for the business is a side effect, not the original desired outcome.

Take a look at what West Jet in Canada did for Christmas this year, and you will see another example of a well run business. Unfortunately the left wing media all but ignored this. It was covered by Fox News in the USA and Sun News Network in Canada though.

Unless they removed any reference to Chik-Fil-A while they were doing it, this was nothing more than a publicity stunt designed to promote their business. It has nothing to do with the values that Jesus promoted in the New Testament.

Matthew 6:1-4 says, “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

      I’m sure someone cold find some verses in the bible that support their generosity. Remember, they are still a business and must pay for everything including the employees time. Yes, they get some advertising. They chose to pay for advertising by feeding some hungry people rather than pay for advertising on more billboards. How many other businesses went out to help others? How many churches cooked up food to hand out? How much did you cook up and hand out?

        All those “prophecies” of the end? They are about the destruction of Jerusalem, and the tensions between Palestine and Rome.         I do know that some Constitutional purists are very sensitive about any promotion of religion on public land… but with the exception of some extreme atheist groups, the people opposed to religious displays on government land aren’t opposed to religion… they’re just opposed to the government endorsing religion for fear of a slippery slope… much the way some gun rights activists oppose any restrictions for fear of a slippery slope to further restrictions.
        I get it, but personally, I think opposing a manger scene on government land is over reacting.

In fact, that’s why they’re so popular—because their sandwiches are so damn good. Is there a problem with getting a little publicity benefit from doing something good? If it were only for the publicity, there were probably better return on investment strategies in other forms of advertising. Even if it was a case where publicity was a prime motivator (which I personally don’t believe), good still came from it. Do anti-Christians and anti-free-market people just find it impossible to see how good comes from both?
