Harvey Weinstein, the perverted head of the film company he co-founded, has been fired by the same company.

Weinstein was canned due to revelations that he has, for decades, abused his position of power as a movie industry heavyweight, violating and harassing women whom he forced to engage in sexually degenerate behavior.

The Weinstein debacle is shining a spotlight on America’s left-coast swamp, Hollywood, where for years women have systemically been used, abused, underpaid and denied advancement. It was just a few years ago that hacked and “Wikileaked” emails from bosses at Sony Studios revealed just what Hollywood’s male power brokers think about female stars and starlets, and that gave birth to a federal Equal Opportunity Act investigation.

Of course, Hollywood is dominated by liberals and the Weinstein situation has once again shown the world how hypocritical liberalism can be.

Just like these Hollywood millionaires gripe about income inequality while living a jet-setter’s lifestyle, we’re again seeing the difference between their talk about “women’s rights” and their actual walk.

And, just as liberals circled the wagons around serial womanizer Bill Clinton, the Daily Caller has published a story chronicling how two of Hollywood’s A-listers and most outspoken libs, Matt Damon and Russell Crowe, took the side of Weinstein when the media began getting a little to close to their meal ticket:

Sharon Waxman, the founder of The Wrap and a former New York Times reporter, says the New York Times killed her story about Weinstein’s alleged sexual abuse in 2004.

“In 2004, I was still a fairly new reporter at The New York Times when I got the green light to look into oft-repeated allegations of sexual misconduct by Weinstein,” Waxman recalls in her piece. “It was believed that many occurred in Europe during festivals and other business trips there.”

Waxman says she began by looking into Fabrizio Lombardo, the head of Miramax Italy, who made $400,00 a year with little to no film experience. According to her sources, Lombardo was in the position because he was a friend and because he helped set up favors for Weinstein.

Then, she spoke to a woman in London who had been paid off by Weinstein after an “unwanted sexual encounter” and was scared to speak up because of her non-disclosure agreement.

“The story I reported never ran,” Waxman asserts.

“After intense pressure from Weinstein, which included having Matt Damon and Russell Crowe call me directly to vouch for Lombardo and unknown discussions well above my head at the Times, the story was gutted,” she states. “I was told at the time that Weinstein had visited the newsroom in person to make his displeasure known.”

Waxman says the story that the Times ran did not include any of her reporting about sexual favors or the pay-off.

“I was devastated after traveling to two countries and overcoming immense challenges to confirm at least part of the story that wound up running last week, more than a decade later,” she explains. “Today I wonder: If this story had come to light at the time, would Weinstein have continued his behavior for another decade?”

So liberals took the side of the rich and powerful white male abuser in private — but pretended to care about the plight of less strong and less powerful in public.

Not surprisingly, Weinstein sent a desperate plea to his Hollywood buddies before getting canned. But as Fox News reports, this time the big shots headed for the Hollywood Hills, so to speak:

Harvey Weinstein begged top Hollywood CEOs and entrepreneurs for their last-minute support in a “desperate” email that he sent shortly before he was fired amid the growing list of sexual harassment accusations against him, according to a report out Monday.

Media strategist at Eldridge Industries LLC, the holding company for The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group, Janice Min, took to Twitter on Monday to post the email in which the movie mogul pleaded for support from “the industry.”

The plea for support didn’t seem to help. The Weinstein Company film studio announced Sunday that its directors fired Weinstein after the New York Times reported he settled sexual harassment lawsuits with at least eight women.

Serves him right.
